Rides and Events for August  2010      

Thu. Aug. 5  -  Bikers leave for Sturgis, SD mission trip.  The 70th Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is August 9-15, and we are serving with Dakota Baptist Convention at their tent on Main Street.  Folks riding bikes, or in cars towing bikes, need to be on the road by 9:00 am today.    

Thu. Aug. 12  -  Ride to eat.   Meet at Crossroads Church Hwy. 16 campus at 6:00 pm, with  kickstands up at 6:15 pm, for a 35 min. scenic ride to eat at Ohio Hoq BBQ in Tyrone/Fairburn.  Fairly new family restaurant (normally close at 7 pm) staying open just for us.   Can't get off work in time? (or if 25% chance of rain or more) - just show up at Ohio Hog (Hwy 74 just North of Scooter Superstore) at 6:50 pm.         

Sun. Aug. 15  -  Sun. afternoon ride - just to fellowship and ride.  These rides will meet at  Crossroads Hwy. 154 campus at 1:00 pm, leaving at 1:15 pm (if not raining).  Call Chip to suggest a destination or lead a ride.    

Fri.-Sat. Aug. 20-21  -  Our folks are invited to the GA CMA State Rally, held at GA Baptist Conference Center in Toccoa.  Rally starts at 7:00 pm Friday, and all day Sat.   Some folks will ride up on Friday, but most folks will leave Sat. am.  Cost is $10.00 (by 7/31, $15 each after 8/1) per person (CMA member or not), with lodging additional, if needed.  

Sat. am ride up - meet Wade a Newnan CMA group at Dunkin Donuts (Hwy 74 & I-85) at 6:30 am, leaving at 7 am for the ride up to Toccoa.  Call Sam if you want to leave Friday about 3 pm.     

Sat. Aug. 28  -   Benefit ride for Bobby Bills, who was paralyzed from the chest down in an auto accident.  Registration 10:30 - 11:30 at Jere's Cyclecraft (Martin Mill Rd.), $25 rider, $5 passenger.  Ride leaves at 11:45 for Earl Cook park in LaGrange for music, food, & door prizes.  Beach and lake there, so swimming is appropriate).       

Sun. Aug. 29  -  Ride to church.  We'll take a backroads ride to worship with our Crossroads Church plant in Douglasville (11:15 am service).  Meet at Crossroads Church Hwy. 154 campus at 9:30 am, leaving at 9:45 am.  Lunch in Douglasville (any ideas where?) after the service.  

Rides and Events for September  2010      

Fri.-Sun. Sept. 3-5  -  Unity event in Tifton, GA.  We'll set up an indoor table at the Colors For the Cross Bikefest, this year at the Agrirama in Tifton, GA (I-75 exit 63B).  (The event was in Dothan the prior seven years).  Doors open noon Fri, rally starts 5 pm Fri., ends with a Sunday service.  RV parking at Agrirama or Amy's RV Park, tent camping at I-75 exit 61.  Event is free, although a charge for lodging/camping.  This is a free Christian biker rally, and everyone is welcome.  This is our targeted "Unity" event for 2010, as there should be 18-25 biker ministries represented.  More info on rides down.    

Thu. Sep. 9  -  Ride to eat.   Meet at Crossroads Church Hwy. 16 campus at 6:00 pm, with  kickstands up at 6:15 pm, for a 45 min. scenic ride to eat at the International Cafe in Hogansville.  Can't get off work in time to ride (or if 25% chance of rain or more) - just show up at the restaurant at 7:00 pm.   

Sat. Sept. 11  -  Benefit ride for GA Baptist Children's Home & Family Ministries (GBCH&FM).  $25 rider + $10 passenger, includes T-shirt & lunch.  We'll meet at Crossroads Church Hwy. 154 campus at 8:30 am, leaving at 8:45 am for the ride to Palmetto.  More ride information Chris Hobbs, GBCH&FM  770.463.3800.   

Sun. Sept. 12  -  Ride to church.  We'll take an Interstate ride to worship with our church plant in Walton Co. on their sixth Anniversary!  (Attending their 10:30 am service).  Meet at Hwy. 154 campus of Crossroads Church at 8:30 am, leaving at 8:45 am.  Lunch served at the church. 

Rides and Events for October  2010      

Sat. Oct. 2  -  Benefit ride - 2nd Annual Ride to Break the Cycle (benefit for A Friend's House in McDonough).    Registration at Henry County Dept. of Family and Children’s Services 9 am-10:30 am.  More ride information later.    

Sun. Oct. 3  -  Ride to church.  We'll take an Interstate ride to worship with our church plant in Jefferson, GA (on their 4th Anniversary!), for their 10:30 am service.  Meet at Crossroads Church Hwy. 154 campus at 8:30 am, leaving at 8:45 am.  Lunch in Jackson County (Buffalo's?) after church.   

Sat. Oct. 9  -  Prison Min. in Atlanta.  Once per year Bill Glass Champions for Life comes to Atlanta, to minister in our backyard.  Over 140 men and women from our church have served with CFL here the last 4 years.  There's a place for YOU to serve - whether banquet, transportation, facilities, hospitality, Platform guest driver - or just a biker.  For most tasks, you must register 24 days in advance with Bill Glass Champions for Life.  See our Prison Ministry page for more information.  

Sun. Oct. 17 - Ride to church.  We'll take a backroads ride to worship with our church plant in South Fulton County (Fairburn-next to King Kustom Cycles), for their 11:00 am service.  Meet at Hwy. 154 campus of Crossroads Church at 10:00 am, leaving at 10:15 am.  Lunch after church (Fairburn, Tyrone or Peachtree City) is optional.  

Thu. Oct. 21  -  Ride to Redeemed Biker Church in Lovejoy.  We'll ride to Lovejoy Community Center to eat, worship, and study God's Word with them.  We'll meet at the Hwy. 16 campus at 5:50 pm, with kickstands up at 6:00 pm, for a 40 min. ride (food at church).  Or show up at 11622 Hastings Bridge Rd. at 6:45 pm for food, or 7:15 pm for worship. 

Fri. Oct. 29-Sat. Oct. 30  -  Prison Min. day in Jackson, MS.  You must  register for this event by Oct. 6 at www.billglass.org .  We'll meet at Crossroads Hwy. 154 campus at 8:30 am, leaving at 9:00 am for the ride to Jackson.       

Rides and Events for November  2010      

Fri. Nov. 26  -  The earliest service opportunity of the year!  We will carry coffee early in the am to stores near Ashley Park, Newnan Crossing and Wal-Mart (depending on hours).  This is to serve "Black Friday" shoppers that wait in line all night.  Coffee preparation team (please volunteer) needs to be at Crossroads Hwy. 154 campus at 3:15 am, and servers meet at Ashley Park at 4:00 am.  We should be through by 6:00 am (you can go back to sleep, go shopping, or go to work).      

Rides and Events for December  2010  

Wed. 1-Fri. Dec. 3 - Angel Tree gift sorting.  At homes of 3-4 bikers.  We could use 3-4 hands per house to sort and bag Angel Tree gifts.  More details TBD.  

Sat. Dec. 4  -  Angel Tree delivery.  We really need your help  delivering gifts to kids all over the area.  Show up at Crossroads Church Hwy. 154 campus at 8:30 am.    

Wed. Dec. 8-Fri. Dec. 10 - Angel Tree gift sorting, for all you experienced sorters and baggers, we'll do it again. 

Sat. Dec. 11  -  2nd week of Angel Tree deliveries.  Come help some children get a smile when we take them a gift from their incarcerated Mom or Dad.   Show up at Crossroads Church Hwy. 154 campus at 8:30 am.    

Rides and Events for January 2011       

Sat. Jan. 1  -  Ride to Buckner's in Jackson, GA for lunch (our first ride of the year).  Meet at Crossroads Church Hwy. 16 campus at 10:30 am, leaving at 10:45 am.  Bring $15.00 cash - for an awesome, plenty-to-eat (lazy-Susan country style) family buffet meal.  Buckner's is a biker tradition on New Years Day!     

    2011 Future Events  -   Who knows ?        

(Considering our first ever ride to a "non-GA" Crossroads Church plant.  We've got 4 in Brazil, 1 in Nigeria, and 1 in New York to choose from).  Let Sam or Chip know which you'd like to ride to, and we'll plan a long trip).
