Event Calendar   

Thu. May 17  -  Spaghetti Dinner for Mack Ballard benefit. Mack is a 5th grader with leukemia, that will undergo a bone marrow transplant in May. Poplar Road Elem. is having a dinner to raise funds, $5.00 per person, $20 per family. 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm, at Poplar Rd. Elem. (just N. of Hwy. 16 on Poplar Rd.).  Spaghetti, salad, bread, tea, dessert. Just show up at Poplar Rd. or meet Ron at Hwy. 16 6:30 pm.     

Fri. May 18 - Sat. May 19  -  Prison Ministry single-day in North Georgia (Hays SP in Trion, Walker SP in Rock Spring).  Bill Glass Champions for Life will go into 2 correctional facilities North of Atlanta (North of Rome & North of Dalton).  Register by April 25 at www.billglass.org or see Sam for print application.  We'll meet at Hwy. 154 at 6:00 pm, leaving 6:20 pm for the ride to Summerville (Coach Inn), or Trion (Carousel Inn).  Training is at FBC Summerville, GA at 6:30 am Sat. morning 5/19.  Cost is $15.     

Sat. May 19   -  Serving coffee & water at Great South HOG chapter BBQ. Event is 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.  Our tent setup for coffee/water is 8:30 am. At Great South H-D, Chip will bring coffee and water supplies, but he needs some help.    

Sat. May 19   -  Planned date for Ride For Kids, benefit for GA Baptist Children's Home.  Ride begins and ends at GA Baptist Children's Home in Palmetto.  Registration 9:30 - 10:45, ride leaves 11 am.  $25 rider, $10 passenger.  Flyer.  Release waiver (please complete and bring with you).    

Fri. May 25 - Mon. May 28  -  8th Annual Rally to Ridgecrest near Asheville, MC.  The Rally to Ridgecrest is sponsored by lifeway.com and has guest speakers like Keni Thomas and Larry Yarborough, excellent organized rides, comedy of David Ferrell, showing of the movie Courageous, great praise & worship, and educational seminars.  Rally goes from 6 pm Fri. til 10 am Monday.  During the 2012 rally, on Sat. afternoon will be a 10th Anniversary F.A.I.T.H. Riders celebration.   On Sunday, the Memorial Day service at Black Mountain Veterans Cemetery is very moving.  Program fee is $60, plus meals $61.50 per person, and lodging is $59-80 per night (RV space is $35 per night).  Lodging/meal fee packages from $297.   Agenda.  See Chip, Carol, Sam or Kathy if you have questions about this rally, as one has been every year since 2004.  Ride details from Newnan-meet at Lee Middle School Fri. 10:00 am, leaving 10:15 or so.       

Rides and Events for June 2012    

Sun. Jun. 8  -  Pray for service at 10:00 am in conference room at Hwy. 154 campus, followed by service at 11:15 at Hwy. 16 campus.  Meeting after the 11:15 service is over, to be held in the upstairs conference room, should begin at 12:45 pm.   After the meeting will be an optional ride to eat, followed by an optional local ride.  

Sat. Jun. 30  -  Benefit Ride from Great South H-D to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.  Chapter event.   Registration begins at 8:00 am (donation only), ride leaves at 9:30 am. Flyer.  Ride goes from Great South H-D to Andersonville Civil War Prison historic site, with a lunch stop at Yoder's Restaurant in Montezuma.       

Rides and Events for Augeust 2012    

Sat. Aug. 11   -  Benefit ride for Fragile Kids Foundation, begins and ends at Great South H-D (Hwy. 16 Newnan). Chapter event.  Registration 9:00 am - 10:30 am. $25 rider, $10 passenger. Ride leaves at 10:30 am. Lunch, prizes, entertainment.   

Rides and Events for September 2012    

Fri. Sept. 21 - Sat. Sept. 22  -  Prison Ministry overnight trip to Perry, GA with Bill Glass Champions For Life.  Training/team meetings at Holiday Inn Perry Fri. 9.21 at 6 pm.  Register by Aug. 29 at www.billglass.org or see Sam for print application.  Cost is $15.

Fri.-Sun. Sept. 28-30  -  GA State FR Rally.  It's time for the 2nd F.A.I.T.H. Riders GA State Rally, but it will not be in Toccoa, looks like near the Newnan area.  Details TBD. 

Rides and Events for October 2012    

Thu. Oct. 18 - Sat. Oct. 20  -  Prison Ministry weekend event in the Atlanta area.  Bill Glass Champions for Life will go into 8-9 facilities around Atlanta.  Training/team meetings at Crown Plaza (Virginia Ave. & I-85) on Thu. 10/18 at 6 pm.  Banquet Fri. evening at New Hope BC in Fayetteville.  Register by Sept. 19 at www.billglass.org or see Sam for print application.  Cost is $25.
