  Sgt. David Battle Homecoming

The Patriot Guard Riders (an awesome M/C organization by the way) normally escorts fallen U.S. soldiers home with honor.  On June 20, they got to honor a wounded soldier - Sgt. David Battle, coming home from an eighteen month stay at Walter Reed.   We were privileged and honored to assist PGR on this day, and felt more than our usual 12-15 pictures needed to be posted.   These are thumbnails - click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture.

In 2007, Sgt. Battle was serving his second tour in Iraq, when on Dec. 18 he stepped on an IED, losing his right leg, right hip, liver, and later his left leg was amputated below the knee and his right arm above the elbow.  Sgt. Battle has had over 100 surgeries already, with more to come.

His homecoming motorcade began at Atlanta Hartsfield, traveling south through Riverdale, Fayetteville, and ending off County Line Rd in Clayton County.
